The Crickets began this week with a pajama party! They took their stuffies and blankets, got cozy, and watched Monsters Inc., complete with warm buttery popcorn. The Crickets earned this party by demonstrating ongoing respect towards each other and their teachers, practicing active listening skills (especially during daily meetings), and having positive attitudes. They are excited to continue this good behavior to earn another party in the future.
Fun continued throughout the rest of the week. On Tuesday, Abby brought in some of her favorite childhood toys (felted bears) and hid them around the school for Crickets to find. Students got to keep a bear and then spent some time making accessories and homes for their new bear friends. It seems like bears might be an ongoing activity for the Crickets.
Other exciting activities this week included Crickets vs. Dragonflies Trivia Showdown, All-ages Jam Session, Hot Cocoa and Holiday Stories, Mini Birdhouse Decorating, Gingerbread Playdough, and Fantasy Football/Basketball Managers Meeting.
We got outside to play when temperatures allowed, playing on the structure and joining organized games on the field. We also found ways to be active inside with Relay Races, Hallway Scooter Racing, Girls Sports Club, and Glow in the Dark Ultimate Frisbee.
Happy Hanukkah to families who celebrate and have a wonderful weekend!
Abby, Maddy, and Brian
