Hello Dragonfly Families! For the last time this school year! This whole year has been so fun, creative, and such an amazing time for all of us. We explored the wide and varied world of mashed potatoes through many different activities during mashed potato March. Playing games like battle of the baked potatoes, sweet potato spoons and creating some delicious masterpieces during potato paradise paintings. We tested our engineering skills through building cardboard structures and ziplines. The whole year was filled with new and astonishing ways to explore our creativity.
The Dragonfly teachers got to run a wide variety of activities thanks to the curiosity and excitement of the group! Julia led some exciting dungeons and dragons campaigns, taught the kids how to create beautiful art with wood burning, how to build trebuchets and how to play exciting new active games during her “Games Around the World” club. Lilly brought her creativity to the Dragonflies this year with a lot of fun art activities, such as soot sprite headbands, home made stickers and many enjoyable painting projects! And Daniel shared his love of mashed potatoes with the group during his potato head club and enjoyed teaching kids about judgment through his story box club.
This year’s Dragonfly group was very well behaved, demonstrated great teamwork and were truly a joy for us teachers to watch develop and grow. This last week we celebrated our 5th graders and their time in RED with a trip to the Museum of Science. We will miss our departing Dragonflies dearly and look forward to welcoming back our returning friends next year. Thank you parents and students for the amazing school year and we hope that you all enjoy a great summer break!
