Hello Dragonfly Families and Happy Summer!

June 23, 2026
  • Hello Dragonfly Families and Happy Summer!  At the end of every school year, we like to reflect on the past 10 months and think about all the fun we have had! This year in RED has been incredible!  We learned new art skills like print making and wood burning.  We created tiny towns and miniature motor cars.  Newcomb and Fishy Fishy were favorites on the playground and we played more basketball than you can possibly imagine!  Every week was a new adventure where the Dragonflies made strong connections and pushed themselves a little bit out of their comfort zone.

The Dragonflies also, along with many of the Runkle middle schoolers, put on 2 amazing performances of “The Great Garden Murder Mystery”.  They worked incredibly hard over months to learn their lines, build sets, and create fun experiences for everyone involved.  We are so proud of the dedication they showed through the whole process.

This year, the 4th graders came into the Dragonflies and immediately made their mark!  They adapted quickly to being in the oldest group and many of them took their role as mentor to the younger children very seriously.  They brought their joyful energy and excitement to the Dragonflies and made every day so much fun!   We can’t wait to see how they grow next year!  Our 5th graders, though a small group, led all of RED by their marvelous example.  Their respectful nature, silliness, and kind behavior made the whole program better.  We will miss them so much!  We hope you all have the most awesome summer and we’ll see you for another amazing year of RED in the Fall!
