Hello Cricket Families and Happy Friday!
The week began with some dark clouds and heavy rain, but we didn’t let it stop us from having fun. Crickets participated in a variety of indoor activities including a showing of Grizzy and the Lemmings in the library, an exploration of watercolors and chalk pastels in the art room, an imaginative block village build in the cafeteria, and GaGa Ball in the Multi.
With the sun deciding to reappear for the rest of the week, we decided to take advantage of outdoor play, enjoying the structure with our friends and joining organized games on the field. Girls Sports Club met for the second time this month and was again a great success with a lively game of Sky Ball. Crickets also had the opportunity to play football with the Dragonflies and soccer with the Honeybees. We love getting to socialize with the other RED groups.
In addition to moving our bodies, we activated our minds. Designing and racing Lego racecars was a crowd favorite, as well as building miniature catapults with Dragonfly teacher Julia! Students collaborated with one another to compose songs with Chrome Music Labs and create a visual masterpiece outside with chalk paints.
RED had their first fire drill of the year and Crickets were exemplary in demonstrating how to remain calm and quiet in an emergency. We are very proud and hope to continue to practice such great listening skills throughout the rest of the year.
It was another fun-filled week with the Cricket crew and we are excited for next week’s activities.
Best,
Maddy, Brian, and Abby
